Provisions shall be made to allow shelving to stand firmly on the
container floor by means of foot plates or other suitable
methods.
3.4.8 Data plates and marking. When procurement is for the
Marine Corps (see 6.2), data plates shall be obtained from the
Commandant of the Marine Corps, Code LMO-3, Washington, D.C.
20380, and securely attached to the door. The contractor shall
imprint the data required in all spaces.
3.4.9 Finish. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2) the under
structure and outside surfaces of the container shall be treated
and finished with a nontoxic, odor free, chemical agent resisting
coating. The color shall be green (see 6.7.1).
3.4.10 Sanitary requirements. The interior surface of the
container shall facilitate cleaning.
3.5 Environmental requirements. The containers shall operate
and be functional in ambient temperatures from -250F to +1250F
and meet the following operational and environmental performance
requirements.
3.5.1 Weatherproofness. The container door, all joints, and
electrical components shall be weather-tight.
3.5.2 Corrosion resistance. The interior and exterior of the
container shall withstand exposure to a salt fog atmosphere
without evidence of corrosion.
4.
VERIFICATION
4.1 Classification of inspections. The inspection
requirements specified herein are classified as follows:
a.
First article inspection (see 4.1.1)
b.
Conformance inspection (see 4.1.2)
4.1.1 First article inspection. When a first article
inspection is required (see 3.1 and 6.2) a sample shall be
examined for all the verifications listed in table I.
