4.3.2.5 Door handle and latch inspection Visually inspect for
the presence of an external door handle and latch which accepts a
padlock. Verify that the door cannot be opened externally with
the latch closed and the padlock in place. Verify that the door
can be opened internally when both locked and unlocked on the
outside. Verify strength of door locking device by verifying that
the door does not open by itself during any rough handling or
during testing specified herein.
4.3.2.6 Electric power inspection. Verify that all electrical
components and devices operate on the power system specified in
the contract or order.
4.3.2.6.1 Interior light inspection. Verify the presence of a
vapor proof lighting fixture with a vapor proof switch, having a
protective cover which can be removed without tools. Verify the
switch is located near the door on the exterior wall and that the
switch operates the 100-watt, 120-volt incandescent light bulb,
which is appropriate for use in a refrigerator.
4.3.2.6.2 Pilot light inspection. Verify the presence of a
vapor proof pilot light and housing on the exterior wall near the
door. Verify that the light illuminates red when the interior
light switch is in the "on" position with 120-volt power source
connected to the container. Verify the pilot light is protected
from physical damage.
4.3.2.6.3 Plug and receptacle inspection. Visually inspect the
refrigerator for a plug and receptacle located on the exterior
near the door. Verify the receptacle is designed for 3-wire, 2-
pole grounded service and is rated at 15 amperes. Verify the
receptacle is of the recessed male, locking type. Verify that a
captive plug or flap cover is provided to seal the receptacle when
not in use.
4.3.2.7 Temperature indicator inspection. Verify the presence
of a temperature indicator located on the exterior wall near the
door. Visually inspect to verify a temperature range of -25oF to
+125oF and verify the temperature indicator and sensing element are
protected from physical damage.
4.3.2.8 Ozone-depleting and hazardous substances and toxic
chemical certification. The contractor shall certify that no
ozone-depleting or hazardous substances or toxic chemicals listed
in publication SD-14 (see 6.6) are contained in the refrigerator
or were used during fabrication of the refrigerator.
