3.2.3 Underwriters’ Laboratories, Inc, (UL). Acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements of UL Standard No. 563 shall be the UL listing mark, or a certified test report from a recognized independent laboratory acceptable to the Government indicating compliance with the applicable requirements of UL Standard No. 563.
3.2.4 NSF International. Acceptable evidence of meeting the requirements of NSF International Standard No.12 shall be a listing in the current edition of the NSF International “Listing of Food Service Equipment” and display of the NSF International mark on the finished product, or a certified test report from a recognized independent laboratory acceptable to the Government indicating compliance with the applicable NSF International requirements(s).
4. PACKAGING
4.1 Packaging and packing. Packaging and packing shall be commercial or export as specified (5.2).
4.2 Commercial packaging and packing. Each icemaker-dispenser shall be cleaned, preserved, packaged, packed, and unitized in accordance with ASTM D 3951.
4.3 Export packaging. Each icemaker-dispenser shall be disassembled to the extent determined by the supplier to protect the parts susceptible to damage during shipment and storage and for reduction of cubage. Parts removed shall be identified. The icemaker-dispenser and removed parts shall be clean, preserved, and cushioned to afford protection against corrosion, deterioration, and physical damage during shipment and storage. Disassembled parts shall be packaged in a class weather-resistant fiberboard box conforming to PPP-B-636 and placed within the icemaker-dispenser or into the shipping container with the main assembly.
4.4 Export packing. Each icemaker-dispenser shall be packed into a snug-fitting wood box according to the weight of the assembly and the weight limit of the box. Boxes used shall be either an overseas type, style A or B, wood cleated plywood box conforming to PPP-B-601 or type II, style A or B, class 1 or 2, grade I, wood cleated box conforming to MIL-B-26195. The contents of all boxes shall be cushioned, blocked, and braced to prevent movement which the box is in transit. Each shipping container shall be closed and strapped in accordance with the appropriate specification requirement.
4.5 Marking (commercial and export). Marking of shipping containers and unit loads shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
