COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
REFRIGERATOR, MECHANICAL, BIOLOGICAL
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.
This Commercial Item Description covers a lightweight, portable mechanical refrigerator suitable for use in a field ward.
Salient characteristics:
The unit shall be a lightweight, portable, mechanical refrigerator having a minimum (min.) 6.7 cubic feet (cu. ft.) storage space which includes a 0.7 cu. ft. minimum freezer compartment and drip pan, three shelves, adjustable thermostat, carrying handles, corrosion-resisting steel shield for mounting over rear mechanism opening, and glide feet. The refrigerator temperature range shall be 34°F to 42°F; freezer temperature range shall be 12°F to 20°F.
The refrigerator and modifications shall be in accordance with DPSC Drawing 25044. The refrigerator shall operate satisfactorily from 115 volts, 50/60 Hz. Overall dimensions after modifications shall not exceed a depth of 25 inches, a width of 26 inches and a height of 36 inches. Weight of refrigerator after modification shall not exceed 120 pounds.
